Youth Services Library Assistant, York Public Library, (York, ME)

Description

York Public Library is seeking a friendly and dependable Youth Services Library Assistant to staff the Library’s public service areas. The winning candidate must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; be technologically savvy, self-motivated, detail-oriented; and be able to perform duties effectively. A desire to work with children, tweens and teens, as well as their caregivers is essential. Experience with programming for children is a bonus. 

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. A high school diploma (or equivalent) and applicable work experience may be substituted. Experience in Sierra library software is highly desirable. 

This position is for 25-28 hours per week, with additional shifts available as needed by staffing. The schedule will include 2 evenings per week and 1-2 Saturdays per month. Compensation starting range is from $18.00-$20.54 per hour.
