This position directs the library services at SIUH, supervises support staff, oversees financial management of the library budget, and builds critical relationships with clinical, research, education, and administrative staff to support their information needs and facilitate excellence in library services.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic collaborator with all of our librarians across our health system and medical school on scholarly publishing and research impact initiatives, our systematic review service, and evaluation of our jointly subscribed robust collection of electronic resources.
Our Northwell Health librarians support evidence-based practice activities with our substantial GME trainee programs, allied health and nursing staff, as well as clinical and research faculty. There will be opportunities to conduct research, develop new services, and apply for grant support. Active participation in professional organizations and publishing is encouraged.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Library Science and a minimum of five years of relevant library experience required, preferably in a hospital or medical school setting. Demonstrated knowledge of content and formats of resources and experience in teaching library information literacy skills, required.
The hospital location on Staten Island is an easy commute from Brooklyn as well as parts of New Jersey.

The salary range for this position starts at $75,000 and increases significantly commensurate with experience.
