Graduate Research Assistant, Metropolitan New York Library Council, NY

Dr. Colin Rhinesmith (he/him), Founder and Director of the Digital Equity Research Center at
the Metropolitan New York Library Council (METRO) is looking for a part-time graduate
research assistant (GRA) to work 20 hours per week ($25/hour) during the 2022-2023 academic
year.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate student interested in gaining experience conducting
digital equity research to help advance social, economic, and racial justice.

The GRA will be expected to engage in the following activities:

  • conducting interviews with research participants;
  • collecting and analyzing qualitative data;
  • providing assistance with writing reports;
  • copy editing scholarly/professional articles;
  • collaborating with project team members at other institutions and organizations;
  • helping to manage research budgets; and
  • other related project coordination tasks.

The Digital Equity Research Center (DERC) at the Metropolitan New York Library Council
engages in community-based and participatory digital equity research to advance social,
economic, and racial justice. DERC provides in-depth, high quality research and analysis to
inform digital equity practitioners, policymakers, and philanthropic communities in New York
City, Westchester County, and beyond.
