The Social Work Library at Boston College is seeking an Evening Supervisor to join our enthusiastic, collaborative, and service-focused team. We’re looking for someone who will enjoy helping library users, leading a group of library student assistants, working in a fast-paced environment, operating different types of library technology, and overseeing library facilities.
As an Evening Supervisor, you will:
● Hire, train, and lead and manage library student assistants
● Interact with users in person, via phone, email, or online meeting to assist with Social Work Library resources and services
● Process course readings for all Social Work courses and make them accessible in Canvas
● Provide assistance to Social Work faculty and students with Canvas
● Oversee maintenance of the Social Work Library facilities
● Oversee maintenance of the Social Work Library technology (e.g. printers, scanners, laptops, iPads, chargers and adapters)
● Perform all types of circulation related tasks, including checking out of library materials, processing returned items, placing holds, and renewing items
You’ll love this role if you are passionate about working with people and are excited by the unique challenges of overseeing daily operations of a library. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the library and university, including Social Work faculty, staff, and students; CDIL Canvas administrators; and access services practitioners from other libraries within Boston College.
Schedule is Monday – Thursday 12 – 8pm, Fridays 11a – 7pm, Hours change during semester break and summer.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $45,450 to $56,800; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements
Strong public services skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm for using technology, and an ability to work collaboratively.
Experience delegating tasks and overseeing their completion is required. Experience working in a public service setting is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
