Description:
This position will be responsible for scanning requested pages from books, journals, and other media, editing as necessary, and uploading through scanning and resource sharing software. This position will interact with the Harvard Depository Operations staff to communicate handoffs of material and to provide occasional support, as well as the Widener-based Resource Sharing team, when this position will assist in processing Interlibrary Loan Requests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Boxing, labeling, and shipping BD/SCSB materials for efficient delivery (15%)
- Assisting Harvard Depository Resource Sharing operations including (85%):
- Monitoring request queues in resource sharing software (ILLiad, RapidILL, Docline, OCLC) and transferring to retrieval directory.
- Scanning requested pages from books, journals, and other media, editing as necessary, and uploading through scanning and resource sharing software.

Schedule
Monday-Wednesday morning shift 7am-3:30pm
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant work experience in a production environment.
- Must be able to lift and carry boxes and trays weighing in excess of 40 pounds; good body mechanics required.
- Excellent attendance record, punctuality, reliability, and the ability to work well with others.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Computer skills must include Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
- Must be energetic, flexible, and team oriented.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and bibliographic data.
- Ability to write routine correspondence.
- Ability to perform repetitive work tasks with overall accuracy, effectiveness, and attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills required.
Additional Requirements:
- Working knowledge of HOLLIS, OCLC, online catalogs, bibliographic databases and resource sharing software and associated tools.
- Reading knowledge of a foreign language preferred.
- Sensitivity to working in a diverse user environment.
- Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving and performing neat, detailed, accurate work required.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent use of a computer keyboard, mouse, and barcode scanner.
- This position involves regularly lifting and moving loads weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
- This position requires bending, squatting, stretching and climbing small step stools when needed to retrieve books.
- May be sitting for long periods of time to scan materials.
Salary: $17/hr
