Permanent part-time (average 15.5 hours per week).
Derry Public Library seeks an energetic, welcoming new member for the Reference team. Knowledgeable, friendly customer service is the primary responsibility, in-person, via phone, and email. Position entails direct customer service from the Information Desk, answering any and all questions, locating information or materials, using internet computers and databases, and trouble-shooting equipment as necessary.
DPL is an award winning (NHLTA’s 2021 Library of the Year), full service library in NH’s fourth largest community. We have a fully staffed Information Desk offering professional, personal service during all open hours. The Reference Department staffs the Information Desk, manages a broad range of programs, supports collection development activities including digitization, and develops special projects related to legal reference in partnership with the NH Law Library, genealogy, and local history.
Successful candidate must be enthusiastic about working with people of all ages and levels of knowledge, and have facility with PCs, wireless devices, the internet, databases and library catalogs. MLIS or MLIS candidate preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience. Job includes occasional evening and Saturday hours. Salary commensurate with education and experience ($19.86-$22.12).
