Information Assistant, Newbury Town Library, Byfield, MA
Posted July 28, 2022
The Newbury Town Library in Byfield, MA seeks an Information Assistant who is passionate about
excellent library service, enjoys technology, and is able to facilitate the fusion of traditional and
nontraditional library services for the community. We are looking for someone who can provide
reference support in relation to general reference inquiries, as well as reader’s advisory questions. There will be regular hours covering the circulation desk and the Youth Services Room as the schedule needs. If you have experience in libraries assisting patrons with their questions and love to take on projects, then this is the position for you!
We need someone who is organized and self-directed with a strong work ethic, a collaborative work
style, and a good sense of humor.
As so many libraries are, we’re reimagining library services and looking for the person who will jump in
and help. We need someone who is always thinking (whether about a new way to offer programs or
where to find the best staff meeting snacks) and likes to hear about what others are thinking, too. No
project is too small or too unusual to tackle.

Our Library and Community
A fun and rewarding place to work! We have highly engaged residents and Town counterparts who support the library in visible ways. We may be small, but we are known as the little engine that could. Our staff and community are excited to bring new ideas to fruition, and not afraid to try things out.
