The Bangor (Maine) Public Library seeks an enthusiastic, experienced individual to fill the role of Director of Development and Public Relations. The Bangor Public Library is one of the largest public libraries in the state and is a center for arts, culture, and the humanities for eastern and northern Maine. An anchor location in Bangor’s downtown, we serve as a community center and a gathering place for people of all walks of life.The library is a 501(c)3 which receives approximately 60% of its operating revenues from the City of Bangor. The library receives more than one third of its annual operating revenue from endowment draw, annual giving, fundraising activities, sponsorships, and grants.
The Director of Development and Public Relations shares with the Library Director two key responsibilities: ensuring the growth and stability of annual giving and major gifts while also managing the image and reputation of the library.
