The Chelmsford Public Library is looking for a full-time Head of Reference and Technology Resources. We need someone to help with the website, online and print resources, be on the team for technology planning and training, oversee non-fiction collection development and be adept at traditional reference services. You will manage a small Reference team of librarians, specialists, pages and subs.

This position reports to the Library Director and works collaboratively as part of the management team of 4 Department Heads, 2 Assistant Directors, a Technology/Facilities Manager and the Director.

Salary:  $57,591 to $81,853 in ten steps

Education and Training:

  • Master’s degree in Library Science 
  • Two years of experience in a public library desired, preferably some in a Reference Department
  • Two years of supervisory experience desired 
  • Technology aptitude for website management and CMS platforms
  • Will consider recent library school graduate, if the shoe fit
