Description:
There is a vacancy for a part-time assistant in Northeastern University Library’s Archives and Special Collections. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience in an archives and special collections setting while attending graduate school.
Responsibilities:
- Create processing plans
- Arrange and rehouse manuscript and archival material
- Create inventories and finding aids
- Conduct shelf-reads
- Standardize legacy data
- Write blog posts
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Enrollment in a graduate level archival or public history degree program
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ArchivesSpace
- Ability and willingness to lift boxes weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Commitment to achieving and maintaining diversity in the workplace
