The Wellbeing Graduate Resident Advisor
- A live-in position with an apartment provided on the MIT campus
The Wellbeing Graduate Resident Advisor(WGRA)is an integral member of the Office of Student Wellbeing(OSW)and the Student Support and Wellbeing (SSAW) teams inDSL. Working closely with both the SSAW and Undergraduate Residential Life (URL) teams, the WGRA will develop and implement programs and training opportunities to promote student wellbeing in residential settings and peer support programs. Through those programs and initiatives that center wellbeing, students will be provided with opportunities to enhance their knowledge about wellbeing as individuals and within broader communities, engage in healthy decision-making, and develop and apply skills that promote healthy and purposeful living. These efforts will contribute to overall efforts to enhance and sustain a campus environment focused on promoting student wellbeing.
Qualifications
- Enrollment in a graduate program (full or part-time) at an accredited institution of higher education is required. Candidates from higher education, educational leadership, student affairs, student development, health education, public health, or relevant fields are preferred
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice
- Strong organizational, written and oral communication, and facilitation skills required
- Must demonstrate self-motivation, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, ability to work independently and with others, and eagerness for innovation
- Ability to work with a variety of community members, including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff
The Jenez Graduate Intern
- An hourly paid position
The Jenez Graduate Intern is an integral member of the Office ofStudent Wellbeing(OSW)and the StudentSupport andWellbeing(SSAW)teams in theDSL. The Graduate Intern will develop and implement programs and training opportunities, advise peer support organizations to promote student wellbeing, and assist in the development of wellbeing communications.Through those programs and initiatives that center wellbeing, students will be provided with opportunities to enhance their knowledge about wellbeing as individuals and within broader communities, engage in healthy decision-making, and develop and apply skills that promote healthy and purposeful living. These efforts will contribute to overall efforts to enhance and sustain a campus environment focused on promoting student wellbeing
