Job Description 

We seek applicants who will thrive in an interdisciplinary academic unit and possess a range of methodological approaches. Candidates are desired with expertise to conduct research and teach graduate courses effectively in all delivery modes in at least one of the following areas covering:

·         Metadata

·         Data Science

·         Information Literacy & Retrieval

·         Management

·         Data Creation

Job Duties

Candidates must demonstrate effective online and classroom teaching and possess relevant academic or professional (industry) experience, and a passion for student mentoring and success. Ideal candidates will also shape their teaching to leverage the unique strengths of the Department of Library and Information Science. Successful candidates must exhibit the potential to conduct world-class research, teach effectively in graduate professional programs, and contribute to the mission of advancing equity, diversity and inclusion.   

Responsibilities

Full-time professor committed to teaching, research and service:

·         Teach three course sections per semester and 6 courses per academic year.

·         Have an active research agenda  

·         Contribute to course and curriculum development and innovative pedagogical approaches.

·         Serve on departmental committees.

·         Advise and mentor students.

Experience/Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills

·         Ph.D. in library and information science or closely related discipline.

·         Experience in the theory and practice of teaching.

·         Effective graduate level teaching and the ability to adapt pedagogy to diverse methodologies.
