Brookline Public Library is seeking candidates for a part-time Librarian I position at the Putterham Branch Library. The Librarian I provides reference/information and reader’s advisory services to patrons of all ages; and assist and instruct the public in the use of a wide range of print and digital resources.  Duties including planning and executing programming, working the circulation and reference desks, outreach to community partners, weeding, organizing and maintaining displays and other tasks. May assist in training staff and the public in the use of technology and other tasks as assigned. 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and a master’s degree in library science from an ALA accredited school.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to public service is essential. Working knowledge of automated library systems, social media, and electronic information systems is required. Speaking or reading knowledge of Russian, Chinese or Spanish is helpful.
