The Adult Services Librarian, under the direction of the Library Director, performs skilled administrative and professional reference work providing various types of support to library patrons and in the daily operations of the Library, particularly Adult Services. The incumbent will accomplish this work by striving to meet the information and library needs of all patrons by offering informative programs, curating a collection that represents a wide range of interests, and working cooperatively with other staff, town departments, community groups, library networks, local schools and academic agencies. The Librarian requires tact and discretion working in a busy, energetic and full-service library environment; performs moderately complex administrative duties; all other related work as required. May serve as Acting Library Director during absences.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience

Master’s degree in library and information science or similar field from an American Library Association accredited program with two to four years progressively responsible library experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Hiring Salary: $27.85 – $33.42/hour, depending on qualifications

Hours: 40 hours/week to include at least one evening per week;
may be required to participate in weekend rotation.
