The Millersville University Library welcomes applications for a collaborative, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor to serve as University Archivist & Special Collection Librarian beginning August 2022. The candidate should be familiar with current trends in Archives and Special Collections, with an emphasis on keeping up-to-date with latest developments. Most important, this position requires the ability to adapt these trends to Millersville’s local context. This 9-month tenure track faculty position (instructor/assistant professor rank, depending on qualifications) will provide leadership for Millersville University Archives and Special Collections, scholarship and service to the university and community. Some summer work may be expected and if offered, will be compensated via an additional summer contract.
Appointment at Assistant rank requires a Master’s degree plus ten additional hours of graduate credit. Assistant rank and an additional ten hours (i.e., twenty hours total) toward a second master’s degree by the beginning of the fifth year are required for eligibility to apply for tenure, in addition to demonstrated progress in professional responsibilities, scholarly growth, and service appropriate to the rank.

- A current curriculum vitae.
- Copies of registrar-issued unofficial transcripts for all degrees conferred and in progress (the successful candidate will be required to provide registrar-issued official transcripts from the issuing institution(s) directly to the Provost’s Office by the start date).
- Three current letters of reference, (applicant to submit names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of individuals who will be contacted to upload current letters of reference directly to a confidential website). (These must include at least two current letters of recommendation attesting to recent teaching effectiveness).
