Responsible for a variety of professional library services including reference, reader’s advisory, programs and selection of library materials to meet the needs of library customers with a focus on services to teens and young adultsEssential Functions and Other Important Duties
Essential Functions:
- Plan and coordinate programs and services for teens
- Promote library services to the community through education and outreach
- Assist customers by providing reader’s advisory services, basic reference and directional assistance in person, over the telephone and by e-mail
- Evaluate and select materials for an assigned area of the collection
- Maintains regular and punctual on-site attendance
Additional Duties:
- Assist with programs for children and adults as needed
- Prepare publicity materials, displays and bulletin boards to promote the library and services
- Conduct library orientation tours and community outreach for individuals or groups
- Records needed statistical information as directed
- Explain library policy to the public as directed
- Participate in system committees
- Performs other duties as assigned
