The Science & Instructional Technology Librarian facilitates the use of information resources and technology in teaching, learning, and scholarship for faculty and students. This liaison provides professional development opportunities for faculty members to encourage and support their use of technology and information resources and supports students with campus-wide programming, research consultations, and information literacy instruction in assigned areas. Reporting to the Director of Research and Instruction, the person in this position leads initiatives to strategically and collaboratively identify and integrate technology solutions with the support of the instructional technologist and other liaisons, develops programmatic objectives, training, and documentation, and advocates for effective use of technology as it contributes to student success. The Library is committed to several projects focused on representation and equity in collections and teaching.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Library Science, or another field with significant library experience
- Additional degree, Bachelor’s or higher, in science or math, or relevant experience with science or math
- 1-3 years of experience teaching in an academic setting
- Experience providing reference interviews and consultations
- Aptitude for working effectively with students, faculty, staff, and colleagues
- Demonstrated experience learning new technologies
- Broad knowledge of common research materials in liaison area
- Demonstrated initiative on diversity, equity, and inclusion projects
- Equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct support of instructional technologies
- Experience developing web-based applications with a CMS
- Experience with Moodle or another Learning Management System
- Collection development and analysis exposure
