Community Engagement Librarian, Part-Time(Winchester, MA)

Description:
The Winchester Public Library is seeking a professional librarian to work collaboratively with
community members, library patrons, and town organizations to provide engaging, educational
and informative adult and intergenerational programming at the Library as well as off-site.
Working under the Head of Information Services he/she will initiate, plan and provide outreach
services to a diverse community.
As a member of a team of professional librarians he/she will provide traditional reference
services including technical assistance with portable devices, downloads from OverDrive and
may participate in some collection development and other duties as assigned.
Schedule:
19 hrs/wk. Flexibility in scheduling is required as some programs will be held in the
evening or off-site. On-site hours include Saturdays on rotation. There is the opportunity for
Sunday hours at a higher pay rate.
Salary:
Full salary range: $29.79 – $43.49 per hour. Limited pro-rated benefits with 3-month
probationary period. A CORI is required for the successful candidate.
Qualifications:
MLS degree from an ALA accredited institution. One year, recent, post-MLS
public library experience in adult reference. Technical skills with various types of e-readers,
portable devices, and experience with online databases. Excellent public service and oral and
written communication skills required.
