Research & Instruction Librarian, Assumption University Library (Worcester)
Assumption University seeks a dynamic and innovative librarian to provide a full range of research and instruction services, as a member of the Public Services department. The incumbent will help library users clarify their information needs and guide them in locating, evaluating and using print and electronic resources. They will collaborate with faculty to design activities and assignments and hold class sessions that help students develop research competencies, including but not limited to designing research guides, Brightspace components, videos, and other modes of instruction. They will perform functions as part of the Public Services team, assisting with student worker training and development, in addition to other library duties as assigned.
This is a permanent position, 17.5 hours per week, 10-month academic year; One evening per week and part of a rotating Sunday schedule.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold an MLS/MLIS or is showing progression toward obtaining an MLS/MLIS, possess strong interest in research services and teaching, and exhibit a strong commitment to customer service.The successful candidate must possess the ability to work collaboratively while demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness; demonstrate excellent presentation and writing skills; and demonstrate a commitment to using, evaluating, and adopting innovative technologies that add value to research and instruction services.
