The College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park (Maryland’s iSchool), invites applications for an open rank tenured or tenure track faculty position. The iSchool particularly seeks candidates whose scholarship and teaching interests are centered on members of underrepresented, marginalized, and/or historically oppressed communities, and focused on one or more of the following areas:
- Information behavior, information needs, and information access;
- Information poverty and marginalization;
- Equitable and asset-based community-driven approaches to design, evaluate, and improve information practices, policies, and technologies.
We seek a candidate whose work complements and extends the College’s theoretical and methodological traditions in working with members of underrepresented, marginalized, and/or historically oppressed communities. The successful candidate will teach at the undergraduate and graduate level, engage in an active program of high-impact research, provide research advising to students at all levels, and engage in service to the profession and shared governance within the university.
