The Harvard Depository is a customer-focused storage facility housing primarily paper-based library collections and records, located approximately 30 miles west of Boston. Founded by the Harvard University Library in 1986, the HD’s primary service responsibility is to meet the storage & retrieval needs of the University’s libraries, archives, & administrative offices. The restricted-access facility provides a strictly regulated media preservation environment, precise inventory-tracking controls, efficient online retrieval ordering and dependable overnight delivery of materials requested from storage. The Harvard Depository houses over 11 million items with an average of 417,000 accessions, 218,000 retrievals, and 200,000 refiles annually.

Under the direction of the Harvard Depository Resource Sharing Manager, and as a part of the Access Services team, Resource Sharing Specialist is responsible for scanning requests for Harvard’s Collections for the use by other libraries and individuals worldwide in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner through the use of resource sharing tools and best practices.

Please note: the regular schedule for this position is 40 hours per week. Flexible working hours within 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with two paid 15 minute breaks and a half hour unpaid lunch. Alternatively, the schedule could be set to include an additional half hour to accommodate an hour unpaid lunch.
