Description:
As part of the published materials team, the student assistant will accession
published materials received as gifts on the Alma library system. In addition, the assistant will
participate in related processes such as scanning, book covering, shelving periodicals, and other
tasks in support of departmental work.
Qualifications and Requirements:
– Ability to pay attention to detail, and work with a high degree of accuracy
– Familiarity with online catalogs and MARC records
– Ability to handle fragile materials with care
– Ability to work as part of a team
– Students pursuing a master’s degree in LIS are encouraged to apply
– Current enrollment or completion of “Information Organization” course or other library
cataloging course strongly preferred
– Familiarity with OCLC preferred
Hours: 10 to 14 hours/week between Monday-Friday, 9:00 – 5:00
Pay: $ 14.50/hour
