The Gleason Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-service oriented, and knowledgeable employee to fill our senior circulation role. Description: Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
· Coordinating all circulation activities and procedures
· Providing direct patron service and staffing public service desks
· Training staff in circulation functions
· Problem-solving circulation and patron account issues
· Liaising with other libraries; representing the library at consortium or regional meetings
· Providing library users with guidance in reading and viewing choices
· Developing and maintaining assigned collections
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of two years of library experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of library principles and practices of public library operations; complete familiarity with automated library systems and related applications; and excellent communication and customer service skills. Experience with Sirsi-Dynix ILS software and knowledge of popular reading trends and strong interest in reading preferred.
Hours: 26.5 hours per week (part-time, benefits-eligible), including one evening per week, plus every 4th Saturday:
Monday: 12pm – 5pm
Tuesday: 9am – 5pm
Wednesday: 1pm – 9pm
Thursday: 9:30am – 6pm
Saturday: 10am – 5pm (Sept-June) or 10am -1pm (Jul-Aug)
Pay: $24.36-$28.14/hr, in 10 steps, with benefits.
