The Digital Pedagogy and Scholarship Librarian will have the opportunity to:
- Define a new position as the first librarian at Hollins responsible for collaboration with faculty on the integration of instructional technologies into courses.
- Partner with faculty and Information Technology staff to transform the application of instructional technologies across the undergraduate and graduate curriculum at Hollins, as the university explores new models of education delivery in a post-pandemic environment.
- Collaborate with library colleagues to integrate instructional technologies into the suite of academic support provided by the library.
- Grow the library’s suite of digital initiatives in partnership with a soon-to-be-hired Archivist and Special Collections Librarian who will serve as the institutional repository manager.

They must also show knowledge and application of theoretical frameworks for instructional design, such as Universal Design for Learning (UDL), authentic learning, or constructivist models of design.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, particularly the ability to explain complex concepts to a wide variety of community members in individual and group settings. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, are a requirement, as is prior success in collaborating with multiple stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and implement effective programs, complex projects, and/or services. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to professional development and to providing cross-functional library services in a rapidly changing environment.
