The Pelham Public Library in Pelham, NH, is seeking an experienced professional to work closely with the Library Director and a customer service-oriented staff. As part of the leadership team with the Director, the successful candidate will have initiative, the ability to make sound decisions within broad and general policies and procedures, and experience motivating and supporting a team.
The Assistant Library Director has secondary administrative responsibility for the provision of library services. The position requires independent judgment, initiative, and decision-making, as well as frequent interaction with the community, town officials and senior staff, local groups and organizations.
Duties: The Assistant Director assists the Library Director with administration, development, planning and/or overseeing all aspects of library operations, including but not limited to: personnel selection and supervision, assisting with budgeting preparations and expenditures, collection development, building and grounds maintenance, Adult programming, policies, plans, and procedures.
Required Qualifications: Master’s of Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution, and three to five years of professional public library experience, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
Salary: This is a full-time (40 hours/week), exempt position, and includes regular evening meetings and occasional weekend hours. The library offers a competitive salary range ($58,000- $67,000) as well as an excellent Town benefits package. Starting salary will be dependent upon candidate’s level of experience and qualifications.
