The Branch Manager position manages our Forest Park and East Forest Park branches, with responsibility for all branch functions, and has the following responsibilities. The person selected for this position will have the following duties:
Management of personnel, services and operations of assigned branches. Development and maintenance of collections; development of programs and services; planning of branch goals and objectives; and other similar duties. Work is performed with professional independent administrative judgment and decision in accordance with the policies and objectives of the Library Department, with review by the Library Director through reports and conferences. Supervision is exercised over other employees including supervisors, clerks, librarians, and pages. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and completion of an American Library Association accredited Master of Library Science. The preferred candidate will have five years of progressive professional library experience including some experience in library administration. The City has a residency requirement; all new hires must live in Springfield by one year from the date of hire.

The annual salary for the Branch Manager is $63,477.96.
