Assistant Professors – Career Track (multiple positions), University of Arizona, School of Information, Tucson, Arizona

The School of Information invites applications for multiple Career Track (Non-tenure Eligible) Assistant Professor positions beginning August 2021. The teaching load is 3 courses per semester (3-3 load), along with iSchool service and possible research assignment of time. Teaching will be both online and face-to-face at the undergraduate and graduate level. We are seeking candidates with a vision for and engaging approaches to outreach and the inclusion of underrepresented learners, as well as strong pedagogical abilities for teaching diverse students.

We are particularly interested in applicants with college-level teaching experience in:

*Data Science, Data Mining, Computational Social Science, Machine Learning


*Digital Curation, Library Science, with the potential for faculty academic advising of students in the M. A. LIS program

*eSports, gaming industry trends, game development, and/or issues of diversity and inclusion among players or gaming teams

Exceptional candidates in similar scholarly areas are also encouraged to apply. Background in curricular assessment or managing student internship experiences should be highlighted but not required.

The successful candidate will have a work load consisting of teaching three courses per semester (60%); performing administrative duties such as course development or overseeing degree programs (20%); and typical faculty service duties like faculty committees and disciplinary involvement (20%). A 10% research assignment can be reallocated from administrative duties if preferred by both the candidate and search committee at the time of hire.

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in any discipline related to Data Science, Information Science, Library Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Game Development
PhD must be in hand before the position start date
