Saint-Gobain Research North America is looking for a high energy and self-motivated information specialist to support the management of the R&D technical archive. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, possesses an attention to detail, exhibits a good work ethic, and demonstrates excellent communication skills. In this role, the incumbent will work on improving the accessibility of the R&D technical archive. Responsibilities include organizing electronic files, performing optical character recognition, and creating or editing metadata for technical records. To achieve these objectives, the ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate general computer skills and a clear understanding of electronic file management. This is a full-time summer position at SGR North America’s Northboro, MA location.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Comprehending the capabilities of current R&D document management system
• Creating text-readable files from digital images
• Correlating electronic records to digital files
• Generating metadata for print and digital materials
• Locating and replacing digital placeholders
• Monitoring metadata quality of newly submitted electronic content
• Filling requests for internal R&D documents
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education:
• Fluency in English
• Highly organized
• Strong background with computers
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office 365/Teams
• Experience with organizing information
• Ability to project prioritize and meet deadlines
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in information science or related field of study
• Minimum over all GPA of 3.0
• 40 hours a week Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm starting June 1st-August 1st
