The Elizabeth Taber Library is seeking a full time Children’s Librarian to perform a variety of services related to assisting children and young adult patrons and their families. The ETL is a small library in a quaint and close-knit seaside community. We are looking for friendly, engaging candidate that is passionate about serving children, young adults, and their families in a small but creative and innovative library. We are seeking a candidate eager to pursue novel and unique programming and policy development to serve our entire community.
These responsibilities include: collection development and program development including organizing a robust summer reading program schedule, activities relating to program promotion, year round story times, reading clubs, outreach to area schools, daycares, and other local organizations, providing assistance to children and young adult patrons in use of all library resources including using the online catalog, databases, internet, etc., maintaining children’s web page, assisting with all matters related to Children’s Room circulation of materials, grant writing and other fundraising efforts, etc.
Must maintain knowledge of children’s technology and programming developments through continuing professional development and education. Must be committed to providing high level of public service and maintaining a friendly, welcoming, and safe atmosphere for all patrons.
Full-time schedule of 30 hours per week, to include two Saturdays per month and potential evening hours related to children’s and young adult programming.

Qualifications
– M.L.S. with coursework in children’s services
– One year of experience providing direct services to children in a public library or related environment strongly preferred
