Digital Asset Management Assistant (part-time), Harvard Law School, Cambridge, MA (CLOSED)

Working in the Harvard Law School Communications Office, the part-time digital asset management assistant manages the processing of Harvard Law School’s digital assets. The assistant will be responsible for uploading and adding metadata primarily for photo shoots and provided images working in Portfolio Extensis, our DAM system. The database, which currently contains over 200,000 assets, is the main and only centralized source of “current images” for Harvard Law School.
 
The assistant will also maintain a consistent metadata structure and consistent naming conventions for all metadata on the site; respond to image search requests; assist with larger-scale photo-related project requests from departments, programs, the Dean’s Office and faculty and staff; and update the data asset training manual about every six months. The assistant will also help create a series of digital finding aids for our video assets.

Basic qualifications:
We are looking for someone who has substantial experience working with and managing digital asset management systems and has and understanding of best practices related to taxonomies and metadata. 

Additional qualifications:
The assistant will have experience working with DAM systems; strong Photoshop skills; familiarity with WordPress; strong communications skills; strong visual skills; strong attention to detail. We are looking for someone who is naturally curious and motivated, is a self-starter, collaborative and willing to take on all tasks. Position begins immediately.

The position is for 10-12 hours per week, $22 per hour. The hours are flexible within the work week. Currently the work is virtual, but the department anticipates returning to campus at the end of the summer.
