The University of North Carolina Wilmington is recruiting for a Research Data Librarian as a part of Randall Library’s newly developed Scholarly Research Services (SRS) team designed to support UNCW’s recently elevated status as a doctoral university and serves as Randall Library’s functional expert on the range of data services increasingly supported in research libraries, including data curation and management, analysis and presentation, sharing and stewardship.
This position develops, delivers, and assesses library services that support faculty, researchers, and students in the discovery, use, preservation, and visualization of data. This position, in collaboration with liaison and SRS librarians, provides outreach, consultation, and instruction on the use of secondary data, data management plans, data sharing and preservation options, and the interpretation of data in various contexts to faculty, researchers, and students. The librarian collaborates with colleagues in the library to support individual researchers and scholars as well as partnering with other campus units involved in research data support. The Research Data Librarian actively contributes to and promotes data curation services in the institutional repository as well as in disciplinary data repositories.
