The Holyoke Public Library is seeking a Computer Coordinator/Technology Librarian to join their team. The Computer Coordinator/Technology Librarian coordinates the library’s technology infrastructure and all system planning including networks, hardware, software, databases, wireless Internet, and related equipment. The Computer Coordinator/Technology Librarian also conducts computer training for library staff and the public in person and virtually. The work is performed under the supervision of the Senior Computer Coordinator/IT.
Responsibilities include developing the Library’s technology growth, analyze and evaluate current and future needs for technology, develop a technology plan with the Senior Computer Coordinator/IT and library Director and assists in managing the implementation of the plan. Additionally, the Computer Coordinator/IT will develop and implement training for library staff and patrons, receive and evaluate requests for information and document computer matters. This position tests and troubleshoots electronic equipment, installs, and configures new equipment and software and performs preventive maintenance and repairs.
Additional responsibilities include serving as the website administrator, technical liaison to the Central/Western Library Network (CWMARS) for needs related to technology. This position may work with City and School IT professional to collaborate on opportunities. In addition, the Computer Coordinator/IT assists with the technology budget, computer warranties, and software license and service contract files.
This is a full time 35 hour per week position. The hourly rate is $19.26 for FY 2021 and qualifies for the City’s comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental and life insurance, paid vacation, sick, personal and holiday leave after one year of employment. This position also qualifies for the City’s retirement plan.
Qualifications:
Two years experience in Computer Technology and Support; Microsoft Windows and Office experience; prefer A+ and Net+ certification; understanding of Library operations and service mission, including experience with automated circulation systems. Customer service and teaching skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills, operates computers systems efficiently, diagnoses operational problems, and respond to user technical assistance requests. web markup skills, including HTML and CSS. Associate degree or equivalent experience.
