The Department of Information Science in the Graduate School of Education, University at Buffalo, the State University of New York (SUNY) invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor (non-tenure track.) We seek an outstanding scholar with a commitment to excellence in teaching and the ability to effectively deliver course content in our online master’s programs. Responsibilities include:
- Teaching four classes in both fall and spring semesters;
- Advising Information Science master’s students;
- Participating in professional activities and serving on department, school, and university committees;
- Contributing to the intellectual community of the Department.

About UB:
The Department of Information Science offers an ALA-accredited M.S. in Information and Library Science, an M.S. in School Librarianship, and an Advanced Studies Certificate. Its fully online Ph.D. in Information Science program started in Spring 2020. These programs enjoy strong stakeholder support from the community and robust enrollment. In addition, we have collaborative agreements with the School of Law to offer a JD/MS in Information and Library Science and with the Department of Music to offer an MA (Music) and MS in Information and Library Science.

Minimum Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate in Information Science (or equivalent) at the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience in any of the following areas: school librarianship (K-12), information services for children and youth, multicultural materials and services, and information literacy for youth;
- A record of successful teaching of students from underrepresented minority (URM) populations;
- Experience or demonstrated ability in the design and delivery of online courses;
- Research activities related to information and URM populations;
- A record of active engagement with the information profession.
