Description:

The Town of Brookline Library system is seeking a customer service oriented professional for a part-time Reference Information Librarian position at the Coolidge Corner location. This position will provide reference/information and reader’s advisory services to patrons. Assists and instructs the public in the use of a wide range of print and electronic resources. Works closely with the Collection Development Librarian; develops and maintains the Chinese language materials collections in all formats, and duties including reading reviews, making recommendations for purchases, shelf reading, weeding, organizing and maintaining displays. Ability to work patiently and politely with the public.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in library science from an ALA accredited school.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to public service is essential.
• Knowledge of computers, automated library systems, social media, and electronic information systems is required.
• Must be fluent in Mandarin. Starting Salary $27.76 per hour.
