The Bedford Free Public Library in Bedford, Massachusetts (pop. 14,200), is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and patron-focused librarian to join our team as a full-time Technical Services/Technology Librarian 1. This work is performed under the general direction of the Assistant Director and the Library Director.
This position is 40 hours per week, with one evening a week and Saturdays in rotation (typically once a month) required. The salary range is $57,908 to $75,277, depending on experience, with a full town benefits package.
Responsibilities include:
- The acquisition, cataloging, classifying, processing, and withdrawal of all library materials including serials.
- This role will work closely with the Building and Systems Superintendent to support the technology needs of the library.
- This position provides information services and technology assistance to patrons of all ages and abilities at our public services desks.
Qualifications include:
- A Master’s in Library Science from an ALA-accredited school
- Minimum of two years of library, technology, and technical services experience.
- Knowledge and principles of professional library science, including bibliographic services, cataloging, automated systems, and information technology. Experience with Sierra preferred.
- Excellent written, oral, and digital communication skills are essential, additional world language abilities are desirable
