The Springfield (MA) City Library seeks applications to work at our forward-looking, award-winning public library. We are recruiting talented, driven, community-engaged candidates for the following positions: Librarian (part-time), Children’s Librarian (one part-time, one full-time), Branch Library Supervisor, Information Services Supervisor, Business Manager, and Manager of Technical Services and Collection Development. We have an entry-level part-time librarian position at our Library Express at Pine Point. This small branch is powered by visits from children and families as well as learners attending classes in co-located adult basic education programs. The annual salary is $23,963.42. Apply here.
The Children’s Librarian positions are based in the Central Library’s Children’s Room. These entry-level jobs provide opportunities to develop and shine your skills in programming, collection development, reader’s advisory, and community engagement. The Branch Supervisor position is based at our busy East Forest Park Branch Library with a focus on oversight of all branch activities and on adult services. The East Forest Park Branch Library was built and opened to the public in December 2019, and the position is vacant due to a retirement. The annual salary is $56,335.50. Apply here.
The Information Services Supervisor works at our beautiful Carnegie Central Library, supervising a team of adult librarians, with collection development, government documents, reference, reader’s advisory, and more responsibilities. They also work closely with the Manager to plan system-wide reference goals and services. The position is vacant due to a retirement. The annual salary is $59,085. Apply here.
The Business Manager is based at our Central Library and is part of the leadership team in the Director’s Office. They oversee three staff members as well as finance, human resources, contracts, and other administrative duties. The position is vacant due to a retirement. The annual salary is $70,391.36. We also seek a Manager of Technical Services and Collection Development to fill a vacancy created by a retirement. They will be based at our Central Library and oversee the work of cataloging and acquisitions workers as well as manage our significant collections budget, including endowments and trusts.
