Call for Proposals, New England Library Instruction Group (NELIG)

The New England Library Instruction Group (NELIG), an interest group of ACRL New England, requests proposals for its Fall Program. This year’s program will offer support and space for discussion and learning on topics relating to online learning, remote and on-ground instruction during a pandemic, and building sustainable online learning objects for remote instruction.
We seek proposals that cover any of the following topics, in the context of “hacking” instruction:
- Creating boundaries through the lens of remote instruction
- Engaging students in the time of anxiety
- Creating online synchronous or asynchronous hands-on activities
- Crafting compelling outreach for remote instruction
- Lessons learned: what do you do when faculty are unfamiliar with the technology?
- Using lost cost/low tech tools to address obstacles to digital access on
- Teaching remotely from a place of inclusivity
- Teaching using BLM as a frame of reference
Presentations should run 30 minutes with 15 minutes for questions. We are looking for individuals or groups of librarians and/or their collaborative colleagues. Interactive workshops are welcome.
NELIG encourages librarians or library workers with any amount of experience to submit a proposal, and we are dedicated to providing opportunities for librarians to learn practical ideas from one another. Library workers representing marginalized communities are especially encouraged to apply. Please feel free to email us if you have any questions about presenting.

250-word proposals are due by Friday, September 18th, 2020. Please fill out this proposal form. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance status by Friday, September 25, 2020.
