Job Description:

We are looking for a software engineer with 2 to 4 years of experience who will focus on the front-end side (React, styled-components, UI/UX) while also being able to jump into the back-end side of our stack (Python, SQL/databases, Django, etc). Ensure industry standards are utilized to optimize the speed of development, performance, and code maintainability.

This position is full-time. We prefer candidates who are located close to one of our physical offices in San Francisco, Baltimore, or New York, but we are remote-work friendly.

Responsibilities:

Design efficient interfaces that drive cloud and on-premise web applications
Collaborate with UX Designers, Executive Management, and other Engineers
Write and execute integration test suites
Provide constructive feedback on code reviews
Design and implementation of small to medium tasks independently

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

Has fundamental knowledge of computer science concepts
Has basic understanding of best practices and consistently produce clean and readable code
Understands tools needed to debug and diagnose issues
JavaScript and React experience
General knowledge of CSS or CSS-in-JS
Experience with at least one server side language (Python, PHP, etc)
Experience partnering with UX Designers to implement designs

Preferred Qualifications

BA/MA or BS/MS in Computer Science
Ability to design or recommend simple, elegant flows and user experiences
HTML5 / CSS3 experience
Experience working with design systems
Experience with GraphQL
Experience with Docker
Experience with real-time data visualization
Understanding of distributed systems
Experience using git and continuous-integration for distributed software projects
Bonus points for experience building successful, high-scale applications
