Los Alamos National Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in science and engineering on behalf of national security. The Research Library at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) delivers essential knowledge services in support of the Laboratory’s mission to solve national security challenges through scientific excellence.
The Data Management Librarian provides leadership on data services and collaborates heavily across library project teams, as well as directly with Laboratory scientists and engineers on data management standards and practices. Reporting to the Research Services and Resource Discovery Section, this person provides key public services of consultations and instruction, while collaborating with developers and technical services library staff to ensure data management technologies meet the needs and challenges of managing data, including Big Data, from different scientific disciplines. We seek a highly collaborative and intellectually curious individual eager to help shape the future of data services at LANL. This position will be filled at either the Library Professional 1 or 2 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate.
