The Director of the Library implements policies and projects and provides leadership for improving public library service to the community. In accordance with policies and goals established by the Anderson Public Library’s Board of Trustees, the Library Director is responsible for all administrative aspects of districtwide services, staff, facilities, and operations.
Primary responsibilities include providing leadership and direction in the development of short and long range library plans; advising the Board of Trustees on library issues; implementing and monitoring policies approved by the Board; administering the library’s fiscal program; overseeing human resource management, including recruitment, employment, compensation, and performance development; coordinating the planning, development, and management of the library’s program of service; serving as principal spokesperson and advocate for the library; overseeing physical facilities and equipment; and ensuring full access to library materials and services to users of all ages.
