Nichols College, a business-oriented, four-year College, is seeking a Librarian with a specialty in either Instructional Technology or Information Technology to join our Library beginning August 1, 2020.
Nichols College is a college of choice for business and leadership education with distinctive career- focused and leadership-based approaches to learning. Founded in 1815, Nichols is a private, primarily 4-year undergraduate business school offering a BSBA with 15 concentrations, 7 Bachelor of Arts degrees, as well as graduate degrees: MBA, MSA, MSOL and MSC. Nichols is NECHE and IACBE accredited.
The successful candidate is expected to have:
- Master’s degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association in library/information science.
- Experience with Database/information resource management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with current and emerging educational technology.
- Experience with and ability to lead and manage projects.
The librarian will work closely with a diverse group of faculty, students, and staff engaging with emerging technology and information resources for projects and coursework. Key functions are:
- Collaborating with departments to support digital initiatives that enhance our instruction program, and integration of data bases into curriculum and research.
- Develop technology-based training and support for use of our information resources through in person and web-based tutorials.
- Provide ongoing support for a variety of library systems, including the integrated library system, archives management system, proxy server, link resolver, interlibrary loan management system, and other web-based applications.
