The Diverse BookFinder at Bates College is pleased to announce two *virtual* internship opportunities in diverse children’s librarianship beginning Summer 2020 with additional opportunities in future semesters. Specific responsibilities are grouped into two main areas: 1) social media content, outreach, community engagement; 2) collection development, including identifying appropriate titles and communicating directly with publishers.
Qualifications

Candidates must be enrolled in an ALA-accredited LIS program and use this internship opportunity for credit or to fulfill program requirements.

Minimum commitment of one term (summer, fall, spring semester options)

Minimum of 60 hours over the term and maximum hours to be determined by interns’ program requirements.

Weekly hours negotiable, minimum of 10.

Weekly check-in’s via Zoom, midterm and end of term reflective writing.
Interns are expected to:

Demonstrate a professional, positive, cooperative, team-oriented working relationship with colleagues.

Must exhibit effective communication and interpersonal skills.
