Organization Description:
Doc Wayne is an award-winning non-profit headquartered in Boston. Using a theoretical curriculum that incorporates social-emotional learning and life skills, we offer traditional outpatient therapy reimagined through the lens of sport. Here, clinicians are coaches. Our staff lead weekly sessions with students, ages 5-18, designed to support them as they process and persevere through adversity. Over time, as individuals and in teams, they learn to heal together, grow together, and win together.
Doc Wayne Youth Services Development Intern:
Development interns are responsible for providing general support to Doc Wayne’s fundraising team through the following:

Create social media posts for dissemination across various channels

Support organization of donor database
-
Create templates for thank you letters
-
Print and mail thank you letters to donors
-
Call current and lapsed donors
-
Support overarching communications strategy
-
Assist with grant writing and reporting
-
Help with donor stewardship and engagement
-
Take photos of staff and youth participants as requested
-
Participate in team meetings as academic schedule allows
-
Completion of semester or yearly projects assigned by supervisor
*Specific responsibilities and hours are set in accordance with the intern’s academic program. Preference will be given to those who can commit to multiple semesters.
Qualifications:

A current graduate or undergraduate student at an accredited college or university

Continued progress towards academic program requirements and responsibilities
-
Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
-
Dynamic energy, dedication, and belief in the power of sport to benefit children
-
Experience working with at-risk youth (preferred)
-
Excellent professional boundaries, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task

Team player
-
Ability to think out of the box, share ideas, and get involved
Requirements:
