The Ferris Library for Information, Technology & Education (FLITE) at Ferris State University (Big Rapids, Michigan) seeks a collaborative, innovative, creative, and user-focused First-Year Experience librarian. FLITE is a teaching library where librarians are engaged in library instruction and information literacy skill development.
This position helps advance strategic investments in integrative learning, digital scholarship, and readiness for life after college through support of excellence in teaching and learning during the first college year. Specifically, the individual in this important position coordinates an established, successful, first-year program in concert with university students, faculty and staff.
Required Qualifications
- ALA accredited master’s degree in library science or ALA accredited master’s degree in information science by the time of hire.
Required Work Experience
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of trends and services in academic libraries to support first-year experience programs

This is a 12-month, tenure-track, faculty position.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Ferris State University offers a competitive benefits package including 20 days of vacation and a 12% contribution to retirement with no employee contribution required.
