Audiovisual Digitization Quality Control Technician, AVP, Boston, MA

AVP is seeking a Quality Control technician to assist in an audiovisual digitization project at a corporate archive headquartered in Boston, MA.

 

Position Details

This position will be part time for approximately 1 year beginning in March 2020. The Quality Control technician will begin work onsite at the archive’s Boston, MA, location. During the summer, the archive is planning to move to Merrimack, NH; the Quality Control technician will need to be able to work in Merrimack, NH, starting at that time.

The Quality Control technician will work onsite performing quality control checks on audiovisual files returned from the digitization vendor. Training will be provided. Applicants need not be experts in audiovisual assets, but must be computer savvy and willing to learn new skills.

 

Successful candidates must:

  • Be able to understand and follow detailed process instructions 

  • Be highly organized, efficient, self-motivated, and able to complete assignments without constant supervision

  • Be punctual, communicative, reliable, and able to commit to part-time work for the length of the project; hours may be flexible between M-F, 8am-3pm

  • Be comfortable handling fragile materials

  • Be able to lift boxes weighing up to 40lbs

  • Be willing to undergo a background check

  • Be proficient in the English language

An interest in and experience with legacy audiovisual recordings and media archiving are a benefit.

 

Compensation

$20 per hour, an average of 16-20 hours per month
