BiblioTemps® is an employment service of the Massachusetts Library System that provides experienced library workers for short-term and permanent placements in public, academic and special libraries throughout Massachusetts.
We are currently looking for qualified candidates for a Reference Librarian position at Pollard Memorial Library (Lowell).
Start Date: 3/04/2020
End Date: 3/20/2020
Schedule: Wednesday 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Thursday 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Friday 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Pay Rate: $24.00
CORI: REQUIRED
Duties:
Answer questions at the Adult Reference Desk, which may include finding a specific book, helping with genealogy questions, answer questions about using Lowell’s computers and printing. Retrieving items from the stacks. Use electronic databases, and ILS for reference questions, placing holds on items, editing the patron’s information in database. Show patrons how to use microfilm reader/printers. Provide readers advisory, as needed.

Experience with the ILS Sirsi-Dynix’ Symphony (staff version) and Enterprise (patron facing catalog) required.

Must understand rudiments of logging onto computers and explaining it to patrons.

Must be able to issue temporary guest passes for logging onto our computers using our software, Pharos.
