(2) Part-Time Library Assistants, Belmont Public Library, Belmont, MA

The Belmont Public Library seeks two Library Assistants to join their team, performing circulation desk duties. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: checking materials in and out, renewing materials, collecting and recording fees and fines, issuing library cards and entering patron data, answering main desk telephone, retrieving items for paging list (reserve requests), notifying patrons regarding reserved materials availability.
Also includes: providing patron assistance and responding to questions and concerns, sorting, distributing and processing materials from other libraries, and sorting and shelving materials. Strong customer service skills are required.
Schedules
One opening, 5-10 hours per week, will include Thursday evenings, Sunday afternoons and call in opportunities for both Children’s and Adult Circulation. The other opening is a call in substitute to fill in for vacancies, vacations and sick days etc. as needed for both Children’s and Adult Circulation. Candidates who express their ability to be available for call in shifts regularly will be given more consideration.
