Part-Time Library Assistant, Dean College, Franklin, MA

Dean College, a small liberal arts institution in Franklin, Massachusetts is seeking a customer service oriented professional for a temporary, part-time Library Assistant position. The successful candidate demonstrates excellent customer service skills; can provide reference and research support to college age students and adult learners; thinks critically in analyzing problems and developing resourceful solutions; and is able to prioritize tasks and complete work on time with minimum supervision.

 

This position will perform support work relating to shelving of library materials; charging and discharging books; general circulation functions; assisting students with information gathering from collections and the use of databases on library computers. The ability to work patiently and politely with young adults and the ability to communicate library policies and procedures effectively is required. Knowledge of library systems is a plus. 

 

This 20 hour per week position works Sundays through Thursdays according to the following schedule: 

Sundays: 5pm-10pm

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays: 7pm-11pm

Thursdays: 7pm-10pm

 

Requirements:

• College degree (A.A. or B.A.), or High School Diploma, with experience working with students or young adults

• Excellent computer skills.

 

Salary is $20.00 per hour .
