Do you want to work with a team of engaged and collaborative librarians in a health sciences education setting? We are accepting applications for a librarian to fill the roles of Director for the Trinity Health Library and clinical campus librarian for the Minot campus of the North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The Northwest Clinical Campus Librarian and Director of the Trinity Health Library is part of the Library’s reference and education team, and the duties of the position include:

In the role of the NW Clinical Campus Librarian, provides reference and information support services as well as training in the use of health information resources to UND-affiliated faculty, students, residents and staff of the Northwest Clinical Campus

Provides library outreach services to health professionals and health consumers in the northwest quadrant of the state

In the role of Director of the Trinity Health Library, manages all functions of the library, including collection development and cataloging, interlibrary loan, and supervision of staff. Provides reference and information support services and user education services for Trinity Health personnel

Promotes use of the library and its services to Trinity Health personnel

Participates in professional activities and professional development.

Manages or assists with special projects.
Competencies
-
Knowledge of general library procedures such as interlibrary loan, cataloging, and acquisitions. Knowledge of database searching strategies.
-
Knowledge of medical education, clinical care, and research and the information resources needed to support them.
-
Knowledge of evidence-based health care.
-
Demonstrated presentation skills.
-
Familiarity with principles of information literacy.
-
Familiarity with current and emerging technologies used in a clinical environment.
-
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
-
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Strong service orientation.
Minimum Requirements

Master’s degree in library/information science from a program accredited by the American Library Association

Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint,
-
Successful completion of criminal history background check.
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline.

Academic or hospital library experience.
-
Experience using mobile devices, social networking and other forms of technology to deliver information services.

Medical reference experience, including database searching.
-
Experience teaching information literacy and subject-specific research skills.
-
Experience creating online learning tools such as LibGuides, tutorials, and videos.
-
Experience with web authoring tools.
-
Experience with course management systems.

The UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences is a community-based medical school in Grand Forks with regional campuses in Bismarck, Fargo, and Minot. In addition to the M.D. program, professional degrees are offered in physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical laboratory science, public health, athletic training, and physician assistant studies.
