Part-Time IT Manager, York Public Library, York, ME

The York Public Library is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative individual to fill the position of IT Manager. This part-time position of 15 hours per week may include some evening and weekend hours.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for performing general troubleshooting and routine maintenance of the library’s staff and public access computers, devices, and servers.

  • Support the migration and maintenance of staff email and web services.

  • Work with outside vendor(s) in managing the library’s network environment to resolve IT or AV issues. 

  • Keep abreast of, evaluate, and recommend new technologies in support of library services.

  • Instruct colleagues and patrons as needed on how to use various software programs and applications, databases, and new technologies.

  • Communicate effectively through both in-person and written directions with people of a wide variety of technological skills.

  • Be a creative team player with strong attention to detail. Bonus points for a sense of humor.

 

Applicants should possess a college degree or equivalent experience with intermediate to advanced training in technology integration. A wide breadth of experience with and knowledge of technologies used in libraries – including, but not limited to office and consumer software programs and applications, library databases and online resources is desirable. Starting salary is between $22.00 and $27.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
